In Honor Of Curves: Our Favorite Plus-Size Style Bloggers

With dear Dame Elizabeth Taylor’s passing, an incredible number of words have been devoted to her many legacies across the World Wide Web. The New York Times alone has articles about the actress in what seems to be every section of its website. In the Style section, writer Cathy Horyn examines her legacy as a style icon.

“She was short,” writes Horyn. “She didn’t have the greatest legs in the world for a sex symbol, which she wasn’t anyway. She was overloaded with hair and bosom, a dreadnought of glamour rather than an elegant swan, and for that reason she did not fit as naturally on best-dressed lists as Audrey Hepburn or Grace Kelly did. But Elizabeth Taylor’s style told a great deal more.”

We here at M.L.T.S. believe that style in general tells a lot, and we love the big messages that our favorite plus-size fashion bloggers have to share. Follow the jump to read about our three favorite curvy bloggers.(Click on the girls’ Twitter pictures below to see their Twitter profiles.)

Nicolette Mason
http://nicolettemason.blogspot.com/
This stylish beauty is absolutely rocking the “intergalactic” hair colors shown in her March 1st post called, “Sartorial Interlude: In Which I Chase ‘My Little Pony’ Ambitions.” And we’re totally digging the Christopher Kane t-shirt she’s wearing in her March 21st post (“Friends & Adventures & Ice Skates in Meatpacking“). Nicolette shoots most of these images herself with a Canon 5D. We totally want to sneak a peak into her closet. Oh, and the nose ring is absolutely adorable!

Gabi Gregg of Young, Fat, & Fabulous
http://www.youngfatandfabulous.com
Gabi’s looks run the gamut from glamor goddess to street style punkishness. We’re totally digging her “Blogger Off Duty” look, which originally wasn’t posted to her blog, and the outfit she rocked at the VMAs — Monif C’s Naomi dress and shoes by Fergie. This stylish girlie has been featured in The New York Times, Time Out New York, The Guardian and Black Enterprise, and now right here on mltsmag.com!

Jay Miranda of Fatshionable
http://fatshionable.com/
Miranda’s spring style, shown here, features pale blazers, wide horizontal stripes, boyfriend jeans, hot pink pants and some kick-ass heels. Speaking of kick-ass heels, check out her Pour La Victoire heels, seen in “Walking on Your Own Catwalk,” her March 12th post. And her “Pink Lips & Gold Buttons” look? Could she be any cuter?
