Summer is finally in full effect with the beach trips, cookouts and vacations. For some college students, they have summer jobs and internships while others just enjoy the break from the books. Whether working, interning or just enjoying summer the college student must never forget that the summer is one of the most perfect times to network. Networking WILL BE THE KEY to your post-graduate opportunities. Take the time to meet new professionals at summer happy hours or make yourself stand out at your internship. You can also attend conferences professional organizations hold that pertain to your line of study; these are great places to hand out your resume and business cards. For those who will begin their senior year in the fall semester, this summer is especially crucial to you. Of course your college degree will matter once you have it, but at the end of the day the more connections you have and people you know the better off you will be. Most of the time its not what you know, but who you know!
NOW GET OUT THERE AND NETWORK!
